Interesting information
Oropesa is abundent in beaches with no less than 7 on this varied coastline.  La Concha is the most popular of the town with its golden sand and aesthetic appeal.  The longer shored Morro De Gos pays value for long walks in night or day.  It also holds the appeal of a beach bar during summer months unlike La Concha.

Morro De Gos links onto the area of Marina DŽor although this side is more pebbled as natural of the effects of longshore drift.  Like a bald man wears a toupee Marina DŽor are trying to change this to a sandy beach.  The Marina DŽor beach however does have the benefit of grass gardens located next to it with bars and areas for recreation or relax.

If you prefer a more private sunbathing experience there is "La Renega", tucked away from the summer populations behind the "Balco" housing estate.  It is a small rock beach with interesting marine life to explore.

If property was the premier development explosion of the Costa Azahar then Golf is surely the second.  With 16 current courses adaptable to all Pars nearby and spectacularly headed by the newly developed Panoramica Golf Course (Castellon).  18 holes and holding the largest driving range in Europe it is considered one of the finest in Europe.  Its so good Bernhard Langer put his name on it.  For more information on the only Bernhard Langer designed course click here.

Marina DŽor Golf, Golf courses and the biggest Holiday Resort in Europe is also set to be developed at Oropesa.

Jet-ski and hire are popular around the Oropesa coast (excursions to Benicassim and Torreblanca are possible in summer).  There is a sporting harbour (Las Fuentes) for all sorts of water activities make the area into an ideal and individual holiday resort.

In a land which is situated in the northwest of "Comunitat Valenciana" and 84km from Oropesa Del Mar, and rising 984 meters above sea level, we find Morella.

This privilieged position, fortified by two kilometres of walls, keeps an extraordinary monumental richness inherited from a magnificent historical past.

Morella is a gothic city where builders, sculptors, blacksmiths and craftmen left their prints in the shape of sculptures, rose windows and other artistic manifestations. This fact represents a stony metaphor of history, present times and the aim towards the future of a city which also feels modern.

The mostly dry and mild climate is a very important asset to the region, together with the lack of any industry nearby, allow you to holiday outside all year round. The climate is one of the best in Spain, with average temperatures of 15C/59F in winter and 25C/77F in summer.
Oropesa is locally tied to two of Spains big three theme parks.  PortAventura holiday resort of Salou, Catalonia, Spain, on the Costa Daurada ("Gold Coast").  Port Aventura is an hour and a halfs drive from Oropesa and during the Summer season frequent excursions run from Castellon.  It is home of one of Europesa most impressive roller coasters, the Dragon Khan with 8 inversions.

Two hours drive south of Oropesa is the theme park Terra Mitica in Benidorm, owned by the Comunitat Valenciana.  Terra Mitica is home to Synkope, regarded as one of the best flat rides in Europe and "The Labyrinth of the Minotaur", one of the best dark rides in the world.

Valencia is the third largest city in Spain and 50 minutes driving distance South of Oropesa, and less frequented by foreign tourists than Barcelona.

Valencia is known for its historical architectual references with buildings dating to Roman and Arabic times. The Cathedral, built between the 13th and 15th century, is primarily of Gothic style but contains elements of Baroque and Romanesque architecture.

Festivity wise it  is famous for the Las Fallas festival in March, for paella valenciana and the new City of Arts and Sciences. La Tomatina, an annual tomato fight, draws crowds to the nearby town of Buńol in August.

If vibrant nightlife is what your after for a few days, Valencia is said to have the best of the whole of Spain. In the 1980s and 1990s clubbers would follow the "ruta del bacalao" from Madrid to Valencia. Today, bars and nightclubs are concentrated in the Carmen.

Gastronomy in Costa del Azahar is exceptionally rich and varied and has some specific characteristics typical of each area of this Mediterranean Province. The common feature of inland cooking is any kind of meat, while on the coast the main dishes are fish and seafood. All over the Costa del Azahar the most emblematic dish is paella.  Our very own "El Cesar" restaurant located on La Concha beach with unrivalled views of sea and rocks can be found here.

Although prevalent in the local cuisine, Oropesa and its surrounding towns have a wide range of Restaurant types.  If Chinese is your fancy we recommend the "Restaurante Asiatico" in next door Benicassim which is comparable to the Chinese of England and not the typical main land Europe attempts.

The vast majority of the towns and villages on the Costa del Azahar hold some kind of local festivities throughout the year, particularly in the months of July, August and September.

OropesaŽs take place for the week of the first Sunday of October and the July.  Bull runs, Shows and the typical Spanish festivities take place during this week.

Aquarama waterpark in Benicassim is a 10 minutes drive from Oropesa.
Oropesa has its own football club located in the Tercera Division of Spain, the very division that a know internationally known Villareal aired from 15 seasons back.

Valencia and Villareal (15 minutes drive from Oropesa) are both playing in the Spanish first division.  You can expect to see a Villareal friendly during the Summer months for around 15 euros and never pay more than 50 euros inspite of the rival.

Castellon play in the Spanish second division.

Every March Marina DŽor hosts the years Mr and Mrs Spain, aired live on national television.
Disneyland Paris was actually projected to be built and located Oropesa.  However the landowners demanded exhuberant prices for sale and instead Disney decided to build at the much more affordable Paris location.
